CashFile is a personal finance and expense tracking application designed to help users manage financial records, income, expenses, budgets, goals, files, categories, tags, parties, reminders, attachments, and related information.

This Privacy Policy explains how CashFile handles information when you use the application.

1. Local-First Data Storage

CashFile is designed as a local-first application. In the current version of the app, your financial records and most application data are stored locally on your device.

CashFile does not operate a developer-controlled backend server for storing your personal financial information in this version.

2. Information You Enter into CashFile

Depending on how you use the app, you may enter or create information such as:

This information is used to provide the app's functionality and is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export or back up data yourself.

3. Contacts Permission

CashFile may request access to your device contacts when you choose to use contact-related features, such as selecting a person for a party or transaction.

Contact access is used only to support the feature you initiate. CashFile does not upload your address book to a developer-controlled server.

You can deny or revoke contact permission at any time from your device settings.

4. Microphone Permission

CashFile may request microphone access when you choose to record a voice note or other supported audio attachment.

Microphone access is used only while performing audio recording features initiated by you. Recorded audio is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export or back it up.

CashFile does not continuously record audio in the background.

5. Notifications and Reminders

CashFile may request notification permission so that it can show financial reminders and other app-related notifications that you enable.

On supported Android devices, CashFile may also use alarm or scheduling capabilities to deliver reminders at the requested time.

6. Attachments and Files

CashFile may allow you to associate files, images, documents, or audio recordings with financial records.

These attachments are handled locally by the application. If you export, share, or save a file outside CashFile, that copy may remain on your device or in another application even after the original CashFile record is deleted.

7. Backup and Export

CashFile provides local backup, restore, report, and export functionality.

When you create a backup or export a report, you control where that file is saved or shared. Backup and export files may contain personal financial information, so you should store them securely.

Cloud backup functionality is not enabled in the current public version of CashFile.

8. Firebase and Developer Cloud Services

The current public version of CashFile does not use Firebase or a developer-operated cloud backend to store your financial data.

If cloud services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the relevant data handling practices before or when those features become available.

9. Data Sharing

CashFile does not sell your personal information.

CashFile does not share your locally stored financial information with the developer or third parties through a developer-controlled server in the current version.

If you intentionally use an operating-system sharing feature to send an exported file, report, or backup to another service or person, that transfer is initiated by you and may be subject to the privacy policy of the receiving service.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored inside CashFile remains on your device until you delete the relevant information, clear the application's data, or uninstall the application.

CashFile includes features that allow you to delete or archive supported records inside the app.

Files that you previously exported, shared, or copied outside CashFile's application storage are not automatically deleted when you uninstall CashFile or delete an in-app record.

11. Security

CashFile is designed to keep its primary financial data on your device. However, no device, storage system, or software application can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your device and securely storing any backups or exported files that you create.

12. Children's Privacy

CashFile is a general personal finance utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward children.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when CashFile adds, removes, or changes features that affect data handling.

The effective date shown at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
